What is a Cookie?

The term “Cookie” refers to all trackers (pixel tags, bugs, web-storage) stored and/or read, for example, while visiting the website.

A Cookie is a small text file, saved on the hard disc of your machine at the request of the server managing the website that was visited. It contains information on the pages of the website that were browsed (specifically: the name of the server that left it, an identifier in the form of a unique number, potentially an expiry date).

Cookies are stored for various reasons, including facilitating a later use of the website by the same person by saving their preferences, as well as developing our services by establishing statistics and numbers of visits in order to improve the interest and usability of our services.

Every time you visit the website, we automatically collect information (pages, links, documents consulted, number of bytes transferred etc).

ALTARES – D&B Cookies

ALTARES – D&B uses Cookies in order to offer content and services adapted to your main interests, to suggest that you share the content available on the website on social networks and to allow ALTARES – D&B to compile statistics on the visits, to record the data transferred as well as to optimise the clickstream.

ALTARES – D&B will retain the information for as long as we reasonably consider necessary for the purposes stated herein. Once we have processed your transaction, we will only retain your full credit card details if you have requested ALTARES – D&B to do so to make it easier for you to use the site for repeat purchases. Several types of Cookies are present on the website. The Cookies have the following purposes:

  • Cookies necessary for the operation of the website
  • Cookies used in the context of audience statistics
  • Cookies that track social networks generated by the “social network sharing buttons”
  • Identification Cookies
  • Pixel tags

Cookies necessary for the Websites to function
These Cookies are necessary for the website to operate properly and for browsing it. They allow you to access the main features of the website.

While you browse, your computer communicates with a server that provides it all the resources requested by automatically recording each operation in a specific file where your machine is identified by its IP address. Your browser thus automatically sends us certain standard information. In addition to your IP address, this includes the type of browser that you are using, its features, your operating system, the identification of third-party websites (Facebook, Twitter etc.) through which you may have reached our website as well as the date and time that you accessed the website.

This automatic collection allows us to monitor the general activity of the website, to repair errors and to ensure that the website has suitable hardware resources.

The collection of your IP address does not allow us to identify you by name without requesting it from your internet provider, which is only possible in the context of legal proceedings.

Cookies measuring the audience
These Cookies are aimed at establishing the volume and visit statistics of the website and its different sections as well as the use of the services offered by each of them.
These Cookies allow ALTARES – D&B to improve how the website operates and its usability. The website uses Google Analytics to collect information on your use of the website:

  • To help us to measure and study the effectiveness of our interactive online content
  • To monitor the analytic data on the website and the use made of the website by users
  • To improve the website’s services

Google Analytics collects information on:

  • The pages that you visit and how long you spend on them
  • How you reached the site (website referrals, social networks, search engine etc.)
  • Links clicked on the site during the visit

We do not collect your personal information (your name or your address, for example).

Cookies that track social networks
The website offers buttons allowing you to share certain content available on the website via social networking platforms.

These buttons therefore use Cookies to allow us to monitor the browsing of online users.

For example, this relates to the “share” or “like” buttons originating from the social networks.

When you click one of these buttons, the page of the relevant social network is displayed. However, even if you do not click on the buttons available on the website, the social networks that made these buttons available may identify the connection and browsing data on the website.

Cookies are stored directly by the social networks. Therefore, your choice concerning the storage of Cookies must also be made in relation to social networks. For this purpose, ALTARES – D&B suggests that you consult the social networking sites and their personal data protection policies directly.

Identification Cookies
Identification Cookies are used in the context of creating and/or logging in to your personal area on the website. They allow you to access your account and/or area thanks to your log-in details, aid your searches, as well as store other information appearing as an interest to make your session work.

Pixel tags
Pixel tags allow platforms (generally social networks or webmail services: Facebook, Google, Twitter etc.) to qualify the website’s audience by connecting them with their own information.

More precisely, these platforms complete their own knowledge about you by adding an interest for the website ALTARES – D&B. This personal data is therefore governed by the general conditions of the relevant platforms. As with advertising Cookies, the pixel tag allows us to show the content and advertisements that are most relevant for you and measure the performance of targeted advertisements.

Please note that the pixel tag only allows these platforms to collect information about you browsing the website if you are simultaneously logged in to these platforms (for example in another tab or if you have chosen the “remember me” option when you log in to these services).
