Press releases

10 October 2024, Rotterdam Business data expert Altares Dun & Bradstreet welcomed Tim van Dam (42) as the new CFO for the Benelux region effective from 1 October 2024. With his extensive international experience in finance and automation, Van Dam brings a fresh perspective to the company's financial strategy. He takes over from Casper de Groot (40), who has laid a solid and trustworthy foundation for the financial department over the past decade.

Before joining Altares Dun & Bradstreet, Van Dam was Head of Finance Europe at Domino’s Pizza Netherlands. There, he led a team of finance managers and was responsible for financial operations in seven European countries. He now brings his international experience and expertise in automation to Altares Dun & Bradstreet.

“We want to automate our internal systems further and leverage AI to improve our data insights. We want our organisation to also take advantage of the tools we offer our customers. For us, AI is the starting point, not the endpoint,” states Van Dam,. “We want to connect more subsystems to our accounting processes and apply text recognition, automatic coding, and predictive analytics to determine future budgets based on historical data.

A solid foundation for sustainable growth

While Van Dam believes that AI and automation are crucial in the long term, he starts by thoroughly understanding the existing processes. “First understand, then be understood,” explains Van Dam. “First of all, I want to build on the strong foundation of the Benelux region of Altares Dun & Bradstreet by implementing sustainable growth strategies. By further automating our processes and leveraging the power of data and AI, we can increase our efficiency, generate better insights, and ultimately deliver more value to our internal customers. I am very much looking forward to working with the team at Altares Dun & Bradstreet to create a future of growth and success.”

De Groot will work with Van Dam to ensure a careful transfer of knowledge and responsibilities, so that the continuity of the financial strategy is guaranteed. Bolstered by the solid foundation laid by De Groot, Van Dam can keep building on the existing roadmap and strengthen it even more. Altares Dun & Bradstreet is delighted to welcome him and looks forward with confidence to the next phase of growth and development under his financial leadership.
